Foster Field Airport is a paved "Open to the Public" runway in
Jo Daviess County, just 15 miles from Galena, Illinois ( www.galena.org
) , 11 minutes from the Galena Territory www.thegalenaterritory.com
(Eagle Ridge www.eagleridge.com ) and only ½ mile
north of Apple Canyon Lake residential development. See www.applecanyonlake.org The airport is used by
many general aviators from: transient aircraft used by tourist, to light commercial
dropping off clients who have homes or business in the area, to farm crop dusting
operations, to ultra-light operations, to just "plane" fun.
The airport is situated on 19± acres with a 3000 ft. by 30 ft. paved lighted runway with
pilot actuation on 122.8MHz. The grass runoff area to the north is 1000 ft. by 150 ft. and
the grass runoff area to the south is 500 ft. Making it possible for additional runway
length. There are 2 hangars in the sale of the airport and are currently all leased as
well as an additional condo-ized hangar which are for income.

This is the Big Red Hangar (it's dimensions are 70 x 72 ft. and the door height is 11 ft.
6 inches by 48 ft. wide) is rented out in the winter for boat storage and used in the
summer for transient aircraft storage at $25 per night. It is an old all-steel building,
but functional with a concrete floor and electricity.

This is the Front Office Hangar and when not rented out as office space it is used as the
Terminal Building. Currently it is leased on a five year contract (with 3 years left) and
an option for an additional 5 years. Rent goes up each year of the lease. This building
was built in 1981 has a bathroom, kitchen, tiled and carpeted floors, three (with external
exits) offices, and a 50x50 ft. hangar space. The Bi-fold hangar door is 45 ft. wide by 15
ft. tall with a new motor (Erect-a-tube) in 2006. The parking lot is ample for 10-12 cars
and we do allow monthly parking of cars for $30 per month.There are currently 3 cars
parked at the airport full time.
This is the newest addition to the field. This the a 10 plex hangar unit split into 7
T-shape units, 2 L-shape units, and 1 box unit. The dimentions are: 241 ft. long by 51.
ft. wide. This building was condo-ized and individual units were sold off and the ground
below was designated as common ground for the condo association and is not part of the
airport any longer. However the airport does receive an airport access fee each year from
these hangar owners. The access fee is 12¢ per square foot of hangar/storage space per
year and hangar owners insurance is tied to airport to make the cost of insurance
affordable. Currently the T's pay about $450 / year, the L's pay about $550 / year and the
Box pays about $1000.
There is 100 LL and 92 UL no alcohol fuel on site for the aircraft based
at the field. And is a fuel club with the tanks owned by the airport. 1000 gallons total
storage. No commercial fuel sales at this time. Currently there are 14 aircraft based at
the field. So as you can see this airport is generating a positive cash flow.
There is a 1.6 acre parcel and an aditional 30 acre parcel the is located between the road and runway for a homesite. But this is not part of the sale at this time. Call for Details
